Take Action - The Demise of TSoF

Take Action! Have your say about the demise of the Technology School of the Future

As reported by the Hon. Jane Lomax-Smith, the Technology School of the Future is moving out and effectively closing on December 15th 2006. That means that the world class ICT facilities and the professional learning opportunities for educators will be sold off with only the video-conferencing facility left.

To find out more, please read the letter of response prepared by the CEGSA Committee on your behalf.

PLEASE, use this letter as a starting point for creating your own personal responses in the public realm.

Going public means writing to the Minister, Premier, opposition leader, letters to the editor, online forums, blogs – and any where else that you think you can be heard.

CEGSA strongly encourages you to share your personal stories outlining why TSoF has been important in your professional learning and its positive impact on student learning outcomes – and also any eduConnect issues/stories that need to be addressed.

This is your time in the spotlight to tell it like it is.

Here is a list of links to get you started and you may want to copy your letter and send it to multiple places.

Please consider passing this information on to colleagues, parents and students too.

The Minister is counting on the fact that we are all too busy to take action and won’t notice until it is too late.

Also, due to the demise of TSoF – CEGSA now finds itself suddenly homeless!

If you know of a school that is able to provide CEGSA with an office space, please let us know immediately.
