CEGSA Notebook Scheme
Would you like to get a significant discount on your next laptop for yourself, your family or for your school?
|
CEGSA strongly believes that in order to work effectively in schools
and to implement a curriculum suitable for the 21st century,
teachers need personal access to the tools of today, including a computer.
In the absence of a South Australian government laptop scheme, there are two
main ways that teachers can reduce the purchase price of machines:
1. Through existing salary schemes. Salary
sacrifice options are only available
on notebook machines. Please note: if you are
considering salary sacrifice you MUST organise all of these details BEFORE
you purchase your machine and consult with your pay office as to any tax benefits you may be eligible to receive.
2. By purchasing in bulk. This can be done as part of the CEGSA notebook scheme. If you do this you can also salary sacrifice, or alternatively, claim depreciation on your tax.
A further possibility is leasing or renting of a machine please call the Education Team at Next Byte for further information.
The CEGSA Notebook bulk purchase scheme takes advantage
of the purchasing power of large numbers of teachers. Once a term, teachers
will be able to choose
between a number of well researched options, including Apple machines.
In conjunction with Next Byte and
ACER, CEGSA is delighted to be able offer this scheme to all educators of South
Australia.
** Latest Offer - opens November 1st , 2007.

How it works:
- Once each term of the year, CEGSA will select a range of machines
and peripherals and negotiate prices with Next Byte which are advertised on this page. The machines will
be on display at the
Next Byte show rooms.
- Educators who decide to purchase a machine through the scheme will receive a free CEGSA membership with their purchase (simply fill in the membership form and return to the CEGSA office).
- Purchasers of machines become part
of the CEGSA Notebook Club and are entitled to purchase extras from any
subsequent
offers at discount prices.
- Once a machine has been delivered, Next Byte will offer an initial training
session.
Advantages to you...
It is possible to purchase cheaper machines if you do all of
the associated homework and know what you are looking for.
However, the CEGSA scheme offers
- a reliable machine at a good price
- 3 year warranty on ACER machines
- a DECS image of licensed software (if required for DECS employees, including anti virus software installed)
- an information session on 'how to set up and use your notebook'
- a range of optional extras, also at reduced rates
- the benefits associated with CEGSA membership
